PV Solar String Monitoring System (PV Solar SMS) The PV Solar String Monitoring System is a new device developed to monitor currents and voltage at string level inside a combiner box. This new device is able to monitor up to 32 strings and to measure up to 50A per string. It can be directly powered by the solar array while providing reliable information and data. In order to have a flexible design that can fit any customer requirements, the Solar String Monitoring System (Solar SMS) has been developed as a modular system. It consists of: •The Master Module, that includes the power supply and communication infrastructure (RS-485) to coordinate data gathering from sensors. •The Slave Modules, that collect current data with the usage of hall effect sensors.
